Kaylan is an accomplished performer, award-nominated actress, and passionate theatre educator with over two decades of experience captivating audiences and shaping the next generation of performers.
A proud Pittsburgh native and graduate of the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University, Kaylan holds a B.A. in Musical Theatre. Her journey began at age 14, when a summer camp audition sparked a lifelong love for the stage—and she hasn't stopped performing since.
Kaylan’s extensive resume spans regional theatre, commercial, and film. She has brought depth, charisma, and unforgettable energy to leading roles such as Donna in Mamma Mia!, Velma in Hairspray, Cassie in A Chorus Line, Lola in Damn Yankees, Irene in Crazy for You, and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors—a performance that earned her a BroadwayWorld.com nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Her work has graced stages including The Candlelight Theatre, The Grand Opera House, The Media Theatre, The Arden Theatre Company, and Pittsburgh Playhouse.
On camera, Kaylan has landed principal roles in national commercial campaigns for brands like Harley Davidson, NASCAR, and ClassPass, and she recently appeared in the indie film Snow Babies.
As an educator, director, and coach, Kaylan is as dedicated to teaching as she is to performing. She spent six years as a performing arts instructor at PA Cyber Charter School and has choreographed and directed productions for high schools and conservatories throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Her teaching credits include The Rock School, Delaware Arts Conservatory, The Sanford School, Media Theatre and Sewickley Performing Arts Camp. She currently serves as the resident director/choreographer at Rochester High School, where she’s known for cultivating confident, authentic performers through a blend of technique, storytelling, and mentorship.
Kaylan is a proud member of Actors’ Equity and a fierce advocate for young artists discovering their voice on stage and beyond.

Aside from her stellar dancing,
Kaylan Wetzel brought back one of the watershed moments in my misbegotten life. She rocked Grace Slick, the ultimate 60's sex siren.

A true triple threat, Kaylan's beautiful, strong singing voice was capable of moving audiences in remarkable ways. As a dancer, Kaylan's abilities are breathtaking; she is a radiant dancer. Kaylan is known in our area for being an incredible performer, and most importantly, a performer a company wants to hire again and again. She is a true professional, but more than this, she is a kind, thoughtful person, and she is easy to work with.

Kaylan's ability to speak to all actors on an individual level is nothing short of amazing. She is able to reach each and every cast member, challenging them to be better, to rise to the occasion, each and every time. She truly cares about the actor/child, which makes other teachers and parents feel safe with Kaylan in charge. She knows what makes each actor unique and is able to find ways to feature them so they feel great about themselves.-Clint Williams Sanford School
